<verb> v.t. བཏོགས་པ་/ འཐོག་པ་/ བཏོག་པ་/ འཐོགས་/. "To pick", "to pluck" and hence also "to prune" with the hands. E.g., [TC] ཚལ་ཞིང་ནས་སྔོ་ཚལ་གྱི་རྩེ་མོ་འཐོག་པ། "plucking the best of the green vegetables from the vegetable patch"; ཤིང་ཏོག་སྨིན་པ་ཚང་མ་བཏོགས་པ། "all of the ripe fruit were picked"; ཕན་མི་ཐོགས་པའི་ཡལ་ག་རྣམས་འཐོག་པ། "pulling off (pruning) the useless branches"; མེ་ཏོག་འཐོག་པ། "picking flowers"; ཇ་ལོ་བཏོགས་པ། "picked tea-leaves"; ཤའི་སྤུ་རྣམས་གཙང་མར་བཏོགས་ནས་ཚོས། "the meat was plucked clean of hairs then cooked".
