<noun> 1) The farm implement called a "harrow". The name of a device used by Tibetan farmers to level over fields after seed has been planted or it has been ploughed up; see བཤལ་སྐོར་ "harrowing". The device is still used in India and Nepal. It is a wooden frame about four feet square with slats of wood criss-crossing at about six inch intervals. The intersections of the slats have a peg a few inches long that juts down. As the device is hauled across the fields, it rakes over the soil that has been disturbed when planting seeds, smoothing the field over and covering the seeds.
