<noun> "Gritted Teeth". Translation of the Sanskrit [NDS] "aṭaṭaḥ". The name of the third of the གྲང་བའི་དམྱལ་བ་བརྒྱད་ eight cold hells. It is so cold in this hell that the hell-beings shiver with the cold, gritting or clenching (same meaning) their teeth together in an attempt to withstand the cold.
