Transliteration: nyi ma phyi dro

<name> "Tenpa'i Nyima". 1) The name of the third Dodrupchen, holder of the Longchen Nyingthig lineage. 2) [1849-1907] The name of the sixth ཁམས་སྤྲུལ་ Khamtrul Rinpoche of the Kham Drukpa Kagyu. He is also known as ངག་དབང་བསྟན་པའི་ཉི་མ་ Ngawang Tenpa'i Nyima.
ཉི་མ་ཕྱེད་
Transliteration: nyi ma phyed
<noun> 1) "Midday", the half-way point of daytime. 2) When used as a description of the periods of the day, it has two contexts: i) "the opening of the day", i.e., the morning, the period from the sun having actually just risen up until noon and ii) "half a day", half the day being from the sun having actually just arisen up to actual sun-set.

Transliteration: rgya mtsho gser gyi nyi ma

The two upper realms contain a total of twenty-one higher abodes; the seventeen realms of form plus the four formless realms.

Transliteration: dbang phyug ma nyi shu rtsa brgyad
<phrase> "The twenty-eight Īṣhvarīs". A grouping of twenty-eight powerful female deities. 1) They are part of the basic make-up of the maṇḍala of ཁྲག་འཐུང་ལྔ་བཅུ་ང་བརྒྱད་ the fifty-eight herukas. 2) They appear as deities of the palace in the pure realm of Padmasambhava, the Copper-coloured mountain.
འོད་འགྱེད་
Transliteration: 'od 'gyed
<phrase> [Mngon] "Giver of light". An epithet of ཉི་མ་ the sun.
ཉི་གྲིབ་
Transliteration: nyi grib
<noun> 1) "Sun's shade", "shade (that comes from being out) of the sun". 2) "Sun and shade"; abbrev. of ཉི་མ་ and གྲིབ་ནག་ "shade".
