This is often written in conjunction with the next mark of a buddha, that he has eyelashes like that of a heifer, e.g., in སྤྱན་མཐོན་མཐིང་ལ་བའི་རྫི་མ་ལྟ་བུ་ "eyelashes like those of a heifer on deep blue eyes".
