སྐུ་སྟོད་སེངྒེ་འདྲ་བ་

Transliteration: sku stod seng+ge 'dra ba

"Torso like a lion". Translation of the Sanskrit [NDS] "siṃhapūrvardhakāya". One of the སྐྱེས་བུ་ཆེན་པོའི་མཚན་བཟང་པོ་སུམ་ཅུ་སོ་གཉིས་ thirty-two marks of a great being. Also comm. written as རོ་སྟོད་སེངྒེ་འདྲ་བ་ q.v.

གསེར་མདོག་འདྲ་བ་

Transliteration: gser mdog 'dra ba

<phrase> "(Body) like the colour of gold". Translation of the Sanskrit [NDS] "suvarṇavaṛna". One of the སྐྱེས་བུ་ཆེན་པོའི་མཚན་བཟང་པོ་སུམ་ཅུ་སོ་གཉིས་ thirty-two marks of a great being.

The text actually says, "like chewed muscular tissue" but the visual image here is fibrous body tissue such as muscle, ligament, or tendon tissue that has had its very fine components teased out.

Transliteration: 'dra ba

I. <verb> v.t. དྲས་པ་/ འདྲ་བ་/ དྲ་བ་/ དྲོས་/. "To cut up / out". This has the connotation not of simply cutting but of cutting a shape out of a larger, amorphous mass. <enum> "Two (types of) designated names". Designated names བཏགས་མིང་ can be divided into two types: 1) འདྲ་བ་རྒྱུ་མཚན་དུ་བྱས་པའི་བཏགས་མིང་ "name which is designated through a reason of similarity"; 2) འབྲེལ་བ་རྒྱུ་མཚན་དུ་བྱས་པའི་བཏགས་མིང་ "name which is designated through a reason of connection".
