ལམ་གྱིས་
Transliteration: lam gyis
<adv> Abbrev. of ལམ་སང་གྱིས་ meaning immediately or suddenly, nothing intervening; see ལམ་སང་ for example.
མཐོང་ལམ་གྱིས་སྤང་བར་བྱ་བ་
Transliteration: mthong lam gyis spang bar bya ba
<phrase> "That to be discarded / abandoned through the path of seeing" or "the discards of the path of seeing". Those factors of mind which belong to the side of ཀུན་ཉོན་ total affliction and which are སྤང་བར་བྱ་བ་ abandoned specifically on the མཐོང་ལམ་ path of seeing. See also སྒོམ་ལམ་གྱིས་སྤང་བར་བྱ་བ་ "that which is to be abandoned by the path of meditation".
སྒོམ་ལམ་གྱིས་སྤང་བར་བྱ་བ་
Transliteration: sgom lam gyis spang bar bya ba
<noun> "That to be discarded / abandoned through the path of meditation" or "the discards of the path of meditation". Those factors of mind which belong to the side of ཀུན་ཉོན་ total affliction and which are སྤང་བར་བྱ་བ་ abandoned specifically on the སྒོམ་ལམ་ path of meditation. ཤར་གྱིས་
Transliteration: shar gyis
<adv> Similar to ལམ་གྱིས་ q.v. Indicating that something shines forth without any agency or intervening state involved. E.g., ཤར་གྱིས་བྱུང་ simply happened, occurred straight away. happened directly.
ཕོ་ཉའི་ལམ་
Transliteration: pho nya'i lam
<noun> "The Path of the Messenger". A name from the secret mantra system of teachings for the particular path in which the messenger (meaning the ཕོ་ཉ་མོ་ messengeress) is important. These are the practices involving a female consort, e.g., in གཏུམ་མོ་ Fierce Heat practice. E.g., [BKM] ཕོ་ཉའི་ལམ་གྱིས་བདེ་ཆེན་ཡེ་ཤེས་བརྙེས། "attainment of great bliss wisdom through the path of the messenger".
ཧར་གྱིས་
Transliteration: har gyis
<adv> "suddenly", "abruptly"; same as ལམ་སང་ q.v.
ལམ་སང་
Transliteration: lam sang
<adv> "Immediate", "instant", "straight away"; in the sense of right now, straight away, not later or with anything else done first. E.g., from a terma on the Bardo: དེ་ནས་རླུང་ལོག་སྟེ་རྩ་གཡས་གཡོན་དུ་བྲོས་པས་བར་དོའི་སྣང་བ་ལམ་གྱིས་འཆར་བས༔

Transliteration: spang bar bya ba
I. <verb> Derived from the verb སྤོང་བ་ q.v. "Is to be given up / abandoned / discarded" or "will be given up / abandoned / discarded".

1) <adv> Similar to མཉམ་དུ་ meaning for two or more things to do something together, at the same time. 2) Same as ལྷན་ནེར་ q.v.
གལ་གྱིས་
Transliteration: gal gyis
<adv> [Old] Acc. [ULS] and [LGK] this term was revised during the སྐད་གསར་བཅད་ language revisions and meant, when written in new signs, ནན་གྱིས་ meaning "exactly", "carefully and precisely". [ULS] also gives as དལ་བུས་ which gives the sense of "going slowly" meaning to take one's time over something, not rushing it.
ལྷུན་གྱིས་
Transliteration: lhun gyis
<adv> "Spontaneously". Given that ལྷུན་ means the state or nature or own situation of something, this means that something occurs due to the thing itself involved in the action. This is usually translated these days as "spontaneously" though sometimes that misses some of the subtlety involved.
སལ་གྱིས་
Transliteration: sal gyis
<adv> Based on the verb གསལ་བ་ and usually used in conjunction with it to mean that the illumination that is occurring with the གསལ་བ་ is good and bright illumination rather than dull or weak with the effect that the illumination shows things up very clearly. E.g., སལ་གྱིས་གསལ་བ་ "brightly illuminating". This term is mainly seen in instructions on the nature of mind in the higher tantras.
ཝལ་གྱིས་
Transliteration: wal gyis
<adv> [Exp] Adj. form is ཝལ་པོ་ q.v. It is used for something happening in mind vividly, clearly and distinctly, and immediately. Like, the sense of something "popping" into mind. E.g., [TC] ཚིག་དོན་བློ་ལ་ཝལ་གྱིས་ཤར་བ། "the meaning of the words popped into his mind".
