བཅུད་ཀྱི་འཇིག་རྟེན་

སྡེ་སྣོད་
Transliteration: sde snod
<noun> "Basket". Translation of the Sanskrit "piṭaka". The Sanskrit means a large basket which is used to contain one thing. Hence, the common translation is "basket". The term is mainly used in regard to the principal collections of the Buddha's teachings. E.g., སྡེ་སྣོད་གསུམ་ "the three baskets"; སྡེ་སྣོད་གཉིས་ "the two baskets"; སྡེ་སྣོད་བཞི་པ་ the fourth basket.
གསེར་འོད་དམ་པ་
Transliteration: gser 'od dam pa
<noun> "Holy Golden Light". Translation of the Sanskrit [MVP] "suvarṇa prabhāsottama". 1) The name of a sūtra. 2) The name of the eighth of the རྫོགས་ཆེན་སྟོན་པ་བཅུ་གཉིས་ twelve founding teachers of རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོ་ Great Completion.
ཤིན་ཏུ་རྒྱས་པའི་སྡེ་
Transliteration: shin tu rgyas pa'i sde
<noun> "Section of most extensive (teachings)". The name of a section of the recorded teachings of the Buddha. This is a section of discourses that were teachings about the dharma given at length. See གསུང་རབ་ཀྱི་ཡན་ལག་བཅུ་གཉིས་ "the twelve branches of the excellent speech".
པུས་མོའི་ལྷ་ང་
Transliteration: pus mo'i lha nga
<noun> "Knee-cap"; the part that causes a bulge at the front of the པུས་མོ་ knees. E.g., [KDZ] དེས་པུས་མོའི་ལྷ་ང་ས་ལ་བཙུགས་ནས་ལག་གཉིས་ཐལ་མོ་སྦྱར་ཏེ། "He knelt down then, placing his hands in añjali...".
ཚིགས་སུ་བཅད་པའི་སྡེ་
Transliteration: tshigs su bcad pa'i sde
<noun> "The section in verse". The name of a section of the recorded teachings of the Buddha. This section is comprised of teachings which were given in ཚིགས་སུ་བཅད་པ་ gāthās (verse). See གསུང་རབ་ཀྱི་ཡན་ལག་བཅུ་གཉིས་ "the twelve branches of the excellent speech".
ནམ་ཕྱེད་
Transliteration: nam phyed
<phrase> 1) "Midnight" itself. 2) "Late night"; the period of late night up to midnight. If sunrise is at 6 a.m. then it is about 10 p.m. to 12 p.m. midnight. 3) "Midnight" the name of the two hour period given as one of the དུས་ཚོད་བཅུ་གཉིས་ twelve watches of a day in the Vinaya and corresponding to the meaning in 1).
བསེ་རུ་ལྟ་བུ་
Transliteration: bse ru lta bu
<noun> "Rhinoceros-like". Translation of the Sanskrit "khaḍgaviṣhāṇa kalpaḥ". [MVP] gives this as one of the རང་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་རིམ་པ་གཉིས་ two types of pratyekabuddha and translates the Sanskrit as "he that lives like a rhinoceros (in solitude)".
