གསང་བ་གྲུབ་པ་
Transliteration: gsang ba grub pa
<name> "Accomplishment of the Secret". Abbrev. of རྒྱུད་མ་ལུས་པའི་དོན་ངེས་པར་བསྐུལ་བར་བྱེད་པ་དཔལ་གསང་བ་གྲུབ་པ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་. The name of a text in the Mahāmudrā tradition which deals with the secret level of conduct and how to practice and accomplish it. It is quoted in Drukpa Kagyu texts.
རྩོལ་བ་མེད་པ་
Transliteration: rtsol ba med pa
I. <adj>phrase><adv> "Without (conceptual) effort"; see རྩོལ་བ་ for a correct understanding of "effort".
II. <noun> "Without effort" as one of ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་གྱི་སྒྲིབ་པ་དྲུག་ "the six obscurations to concentration (samādhi)".
བཏང་བ་དང་བཞག་པ་
Transliteration: btang ba dang bzhag pa
<phrase> "Keeping or letting go of", meaning deciding on the path that some things should be kept because of seeing them as valuable to the final attainment of buddhahood and that some things should be let go because of seeing that as otherwise.
འདུ་འཛི་གཡེང་བ་
Transliteration: 'du 'dzi g-yeng ba
<noun> "Distraction to frivolity", "distracting things", "distraction to externals", "distracting involvements", "frivolous, external distractions". This is a common term in practice-oriented dharma texts. See འདུ་འཛི་ for further explanation.
ལེན་པ་མི་མངའ་བ་
Transliteration: len pa mi mnga' ba
<noun> "He who does not have taking up (of births)". Translation of the Sanskrit [MVP] "nirādāna". One of many སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱི་མཚན་ epithets of the buddha.
གོང་དུ་འཕེལ་བ་
Transliteration: gong du 'phel ba

རྒྱལ་བ་ལོ་རས་པ་
Transliteration: rgyal ba lo ras pa
<noun> "Gyalwa Lorepa". An epithet of the great yogin Lorepa who was an early but important figure of the འབྲུག་པ་བཀའ་བརྒྱུད་ Drukpa Kagyu lineage.
བསམ་པ་ལས་བྱུང་བ་
Transliteration: bsam pa las byung ba
<phrase> "(That) arising from contemplation / thinking". Translation of the Sanskrit [NDS] "cintāmayī". Comm. abbrev. of བསམ་པ་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་ཤེས་རབ་ "prajñā arising from contemplation" q.v.
རྙེད་པར་དཀའ་བ་
Transliteration: rnyed par dka' ba
<phrase> "Difficult to gain", "difficult to meet with". Freq. found in རྙེད་དཀའ་དལ་འབྱོར་མི་ལུས་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ "difficult-to-gain, precious human body with freedom and connection". Opp. of རྙེད་པར་སླ་བ་ q.v.
གཅིག་ཏུ་འདུ་བ་
Transliteration: gcig tu 'du ba
I. <verb> v.i. see འདུ་བ་ for tense forms. "To be summed into one", "to be summarized into one", "to be summed up (into one)", "to be gathered (up) into one", "to be gathered together", etc. Note that this is the intransitive form; see གཅིག་ཏུ་བསྡུ་བ་ for the transitive.

སྔོན་སྦྱངས་སྐལ་བ་
Transliteration: sngon sbyangs skal ba
<noun> "The fortune of former training" meaning practice of the Buddhist path done in a former lifetime which has brought fortunate connections with dharma in this life, allowing the dharma to be entered and practised.
མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདའ་བ་
Transliteration: mya ngan las 'da' ba
<verb> v.i. see འདའ་བ་ for tense forms. 1) "To pass into མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདས་པ་ nirvāṇa" i.e., to pass away from misery". 2) Used as an [Hon] way of saying that someone has died.
མ་དག་པའི་སྣང་བ་
Transliteration: ma dag pa'i snang ba
<phrase> "Impurity's appearances" or "appearances due to impurity" meaning the appearances that occur to a being in cyclic existence because of the impurity in their being. These are the same as འཁྲུལ་སྣང་ appearances of confusion q.v. E.g., ཡེ་ཤེས་མེ་ཡིས་མ་དག་སྣང་བ་བསྲེགས། "appearances due to impurity incinerated by wisdom fire".
ཤིང་བལ་གྱི་འདའ་བ་
Transliteration: shing bal gyi 'da' ba
<phrase> "Fine-combed cotton wool". Raw cotton that has been combed very well to remove all knots and impurities and has ended up as a flat sheet of cotton fibres.
བསྒོ་བ་རྣར་གཟོན་པ་
Transliteration: bsgo ba rnar gzon pa
<verb> Acc. [LGK] this term was revised during the སྐད་གསར་བཅད་ language revisions and meant, when written in new signs, བསྒོ་བ་ལ་མི་ཉན་པ་ "to not listen to, to disobey a command / order".
སྐྱེ་བ་དང་འཇུག་པ་
Transliteration: skye ba dang 'jug pa
<phrase> "Life and entry", the two types of attainment at the completion of the Direct Crossing Path, which is the completion of the ཆོས་ཉིད་དུ་འཛིན་པ་ཟད་པའི་སྣང་བ་ Appearance of Dharmata Exhaustion. The two are སྐྱེ་བ་ལ་དབང་ཐོབ་པ་ "attainment of control over life" and འཇུག་པ་ལ་དབང་ཐོབ་པ་ "attainment of control over entry" respectively.
ཀུན་སྣང་དྭང་བ་ཅན་
Transliteration: kun snang dvang ba can
<noun> [Mngon] "Clearly Showing All". The name of a lake in the asura realm that shows what is happening in the deva realms, like the reflections in a mirror. The asuras become very jealous of what they see.
གཟུགས་བརྙན་གྱི་སྣང་བ་
Transliteration: gzugs brnyan gyi snang ba
<phrase> "A reflected appearance" i.e., a reflection. Used as one of the analogies of illusion, e.g., see སྒྱུ་མའི་དཔེ་བརྒྱད་ the eight analogies of illusion.
མཐའ་ཐམས་ཅད་དང་བྲལ་བ་
Transliteration: mtha' thams cad dang bral ba
<phrase> "Free from every extreme"; meaning free from all of the མཐའ་ཡི་སྤྲོས་པ་ extremes of conceptual elaboration q.v. See མཐའ་བརྒྱད་ for more about the extremes.
ལྷག་མའི་གཏོར་མ་བསྔོ་བ་
Transliteration: lhag ma'i gtor ma bsngo ba
