ཝལ་གྱིས་
Transliteration: wal gyis
<adv> [Exp] Adj. form is ཝལ་པོ་ q.v. It is used for something happening in mind vividly, clearly and distinctly, and immediately. Like, the sense of something "popping" into mind. E.g., [TC] ཚིག་དོན་བློ་ལ་ཝལ་གྱིས་ཤར་བ། "the meaning of the words popped into his mind".
གལ་གྱིས་

<adv> [Old] Acc. [ULS] and [LGK] this term was revised during the སྐད་གསར་བཅད་ language revisions and meant, when written in new signs, ནན་གྱིས་ meaning "exactly", "carefully and precisely". [ULS] also gives as དལ་བུས་ which gives the sense of "going slowly" meaning to take one's time over something, not rushing it.
སལ་གྱིས་
Transliteration: sal gyis
<adv> Based on the verb གསལ་བ་ and usually used in conjunction with it to mean that the illumination that is occurring with the གསལ་བ་ is good and bright illumination rather than dull or weak with the effect that the illumination shows things up very clearly. E.g., སལ་གྱིས་གསལ་བ་ "brightly illuminating". This term is mainly seen in instructions on the nature of mind in the higher tantras.
ཧར་གྱིས་

<adv> Similar to ལམ་གྱིས་ q.v. Indicating that something shines forth without any agency or intervening state involved. E.g., ཤར་གྱིས་བྱུང་ simply happened, occurred straight away. happened directly.
ཅམ་གྱིས་
Transliteration: cam gyis
<adv> form of ཅམ་ q.v. 1) Doing something gently, carefully, quietly, without a distracted, busy, upset mind. 2) To do something completely, fully, to the limit.
དལ་གྱིས་
Transliteration: dal gyis
<adv> "Slowly", "leisurely", "gently", "unhurried". E.g., ཆུ་བོ་དལ་གྱིས་འབབ། "the river travelled on slowly / gently / in a leisurely way".
ནན་གྱིས་
Transliteration: nan gyis
<adv> To do something insistently. This can mean either 1) to be "assiduous" at a task in general or 2) to be insistent on precision and care, i.e., to be precise.
ཕྱམ་གྱིས་
Transliteration: phyam gyis
<adv> Conveying the sense of doing something in a wide open, flat, unending space like the feeling of being on a vast, flat, never-ending plain. Sometimes seen in śhamatha instructions on meditation in which case it carries the sense of vast evenness, levelness of mind, with no thoughts interrupting the flat surface.
རིམ་གྱིས་
Transliteration: rim gyis
<adv> Having the basic meaning "by stages" which can be equivalent to various English terms, depending on the context: "gradually", "by degrees", "step by step", "in steps/stages", "progressively", "sequentially", "serially", "by turns".
The opp. of རིམ་གྱིས་ is ཅིག་ཅར་ meaning something that happens "at once" without any progression through stages.
