ཞུན་མར་
Transliteration: zhun mar
<noun> 1) "The skin" that develops on milk when it is boiled. In Tibet, by boiling milk, the "skin" that formed would also collect all the hairs and muck that had been carried in the milk from the milking process. Thus, making the skin come was a way of cleaning the milk. 2) Any "lamp" made for illumination from any kind of oil or butter.

Transliteration: mar lugs
<phrase> "Marpa's system". Freq. seen in Kagyu texts on tantric practice, this refers to the system of practice of a particular deity as was passed on by མར་པ་ལོ་ཙཱ་བ་ Marpa Lotsāwa.
ཤན་ཞུགས་
Transliteration: shan zhugs
1) The adulteration, discolouration, or other fault of degradation that occurs when two things of unlike character are mixed together, for example gold is degraded when brass is mixed with it. 2) When a certain type of thing is degraded because of losing its type. 3) A term from the Vinaya used to indicate oxidation, rusting, or similar damage to the items allowed to a Buddhist monk.
