རྩིད་པ་
Transliteration: rtsid pa
<noun> "Tsipa". The long hair of the འབྲི་ Dri, གཡག་ Yak, and related animals which is obtained from the hind region of the body. The hair is long and very strong. It is used amongst other things for making tents. This is in contrast to the སྤུ་ short hair from the front part of the animal which is not so long, not so coarse, and more pliable.

<noun> A tent made from the material called རེ་ལྡེ་ raydey q.v. Often called "a yaks' hair tent" but the cloth used is made from རྩིད་པ་ q.v. not just "yak hair". The tents are usually used by nomads. The cloth is black (because of coming from a yak) and thick, strong, and coarse.
